Sexual Violence Volunteer Advocate

Oasis Sexual Violence Program is looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals in working with sexual trauma survivors. As a small non-profit program, we rely on committed community members to help us fulfill our mission and vision.

  • Hotline Support – Our trained advocates provide crisis intervention, support, information and resources to callers.

  • Hospital Advocacy – Hospital advocates provide support and advocacy to survivors during medical forensic exams – evenings, nights and weekends.

  • Community Outreach – Volunteers provide outreach to the community by tabling at health fairs and connection with others agencies.

Getting started as a new OSV volunteer is a step-by-step process to ensure that each volunteer  is properly oriented and trained. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and pass a criminal background check.

  • Commitment level high

  • Complete application, be interviewed and accepted

  • Complete 40 hours of Crisis Intervention Training
